Each pottery class meets once a week for 2½ hours. This class is geared to the student who has learned the basics of wheel throwing and is ready to fine-tune their throwing skills and explore a variety of new forms. We will not cover the basics of centering in this class, but we will however, demonstrate new techniques in each advanced class, exploring surface decorating techniques and altered forms to help students develop their own personal style.
Additionally we will cover a variety of assembling techniques as well as combining multiple thrown and hand-built parts such as lidded containers, teapots and more. Students are encouraged to use open studio time to practice between weekly classes.
We offer private one-on-one lessons. Private lessons can be a great way to address specific needs and are conducted more like a workshop. Sessions can be scheduled at your convenience and for various durations. $125 per two hour session.
