ADULT STUDIO POLICIES
we are not responsible for providing make-up classes or issuing refunds to students who miss classes…
we do not offer makeup classes for any student who exceeds 5 plus hours a week of free open studio time. if you are a student that comes to class once a week for the 2 hour class allotted and no open studio you are entitled to one makeup class per session.
we do NOT carry over any makeup classes during our 8 week sessions whatsoever into the next 8 week session.
due to inclement weather or emergency closing on our part we will offer a makeup class to the group. majority rules, if you are unable to make that class we allow a makeup in another class with prior notice. during those makeup classes there will be NO open studio. we will freeze membership for medical leave only. open Studio is for use by currently enrolled students only that sign up for an 8 week course. Course registration is non-transferable to a different session.
parties /private lessons
to book a party or at our studio we require a $200 deposit in order to hold the requested date and time once confirmed with the instructor. The deposit is non-refundable. A final head count will be required a week before the party date along with the remaining party balance. The balance paid cannot be refunded after the party. a scheduled private pottery lesson must be paid in full 24 hours after agreeing to the appointment. Scheduled lessons require 24-hour notice prior to the appointment in order to reschedule for a different time slot. scheduled lessons require 36-hour notice prior to the appointment for a full refund. failing to attend a scheduled lesson without notification to the instructor or office, will render the class non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. see cost below.
open studio
use of studio without instruction is available to currently enrolled students only. we do not allow walk ins if you are not enrolled in our classes. bench time schedules are posted in the studio and NOT scheduled class time. please be respectful and do not walk downstairs during another instructors class time for any reason. bench time is free of charge for students who enroll in 8 week sessions only. if you enroll for 7 weeks or less for whatever reason you must pay an additional $50 for open studio
shelf studio
shelf space is given to students enrolled for 8 weeks free of charge. if you leave after the 8 week session and do not take your belongings from the shelf alloted to you , your items will be disposed. we are NOT held responsible if you do not take your belongings. you must clear your shelf after a session if you are no longer with us. if you take a leave from our studio you may keep your shelf for $25 per month.
firing of work
firing of work is included in our 8 week session, any piece measuring over 475 cubic inches you will incur a charge of 5 cents per cubic inch as well as any third firing. firing of student work is stacked by our staff whenever a kiln is not fired until kiln is completely full. we do NOT guarantee any glazed pieces back sooner than 3 weeks. We do not offer outside firing.
clay bodies
we do not allow students enrolled in our school to bring in outside clay. each bag after your initial 25 pound bag is additional at the the cost $102. this fee includes all our firing and glazing fees. if we did in fact measure each piece from one bag that was put into the kiln it would be much more than $100
refunds
refund requests must be made via email or in person. There is a $35 processing fee for all refunds. missed classes are non-refundable.

cancellation policy
Each session is between 15 -19 classes depending on school holidays. NO CARRY OVERS, TRANSFERRING OF CREDIT OR REFUNDS- NO EXCEPTIONS!WE OFFER MAKEUPS AND CREDIT IF MEDICAL LEAVE. NO REFUNDS ONCE YOU TAKE A SEAT. We follow the Port Washington school calendar. There are no classes during major holidays. NOTE: NO SESSION WILL RUN WITH LESS THAN 5 STUDENTS PER CLASS. We reserve the right to change class scheduled dates based on prior enrollment and instructor availability. no carry overs, transfering of credit AND NO REFUNDS AT ANY TIME. Students are entitled to TWO make-up classes only during semester.
