ADULT STUDIO POLICIES
studio policy & session guidelines
No refunds are issued for any missed or canceled lessons, including private lessons.
You may reschedule a private lesson with at least one week’s notice, up to a maximum of two times.
makeup classes
Makeup classes are not available due to the fact that we offer 12+ hours of FREE open studio time per week. If you are traveling and not here for a few weeks you can makeup one class.
Classes do not carry over into the next 8-week session under any circumstances.
session structure
Each session runs for 8 weeks.
All pieces must be completed by your 8th class—please plan your projects accordingly.
If you are not returning for the next session, please notify the studio during Week 7 to ensure your pieces are bisqued and ready to glaze by your final class.
If you need additional time to glaze, you may arrange one single return visit for glazing at a $25 fee.
one-month session option
A 4-week ceramics session is available for $295, which includes access to open studio.
Clay is not included in the 4-week session.
closures & emergencies
In case of studio closure due to weather or emergency, a makeup class will be offered to the group. The rescheduled time will be based on majority availability.
If you are unable to attend the group makeup, you may request to join a different class with prior notice.
Open studio is not available during makeup classes.
Memberships will only be frozen for medical leave 1 session once you take a seat.
open studio use
Open studio access is only available to currently enrolled students in the 8-week session.
Course registration is non-transferable to a different session.
During the week, we offer:
10 hours of FREE Open Studio time
1 extra hour before and/or after your instructional class
Weekend Option:
5 additional hours on Saturdays for a $50 weekly fee
If you choose to attend both during the week and on Saturdays, the cost breaks down to less than $3 per hour for studio access!
parties /private lessons
to book a party or at our studio we require a $200 deposit in order to hold the requested date and time once confirmed with the instructor. The deposit is non-refundable. A final head count will be required a week before the party date along with the remaining party balance. The balance paid cannot be refunded after the party. a scheduled private pottery lesson must be paid in full 24 hours after agreeing to the appointment. Scheduled lessons require 24-hour notice prior to the appointment in order to reschedule for a different time slot. scheduled lessons require 36-hour notice prior to the appointment for a full refund. failing to attend a scheduled lesson without notification to the instructor or office, will render the class non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. see cost below.
open studio
use of studio without instruction is available to currently enrolled students only. we do not allow walk ins if you are not enrolled in our classes. bench time schedules are posted in the studio and NOT scheduled class time. please be respectful and do not walk downstairs during another instructors class time for any reason. bench time is free of charge for students who enroll in 8 week sessions only. if you enroll for 7 weeks or less for whatever reason you must pay an additional $55 for open studio
We offer over 12 hours during week free of charge to students registered for 8 weeks.
Saturday- pay day from 1:00 – 6:00- You may come in 1 hour or 6 hours cost the same $50 You must check in and check out with your cc on file to join Saturday open studio.
shelf studio
shelf space is given to students enrolled for 8 weeks free of charge. if you leave after the 8 week session and do not take your belongings from the shelf alloted to you , your items will be disposed. we are NOT held responsible if you do not take your belongings. you must clear your shelf after a session if you are no longer with us. if you take a leave from our studio you may keep your shelf $55 for session
firing of work
firing of work is included in our 8 week session, any piece measuring over 470 cubic inches you will incur a charge of 6 cents per cubic inch as well as any third firing. firing of student work is stacked by our staff whenever a kiln is not fired until kiln is completely full. we do NOT guarantee any glazed pieces back sooner than 4-6 weeks. You will always have bisque pieces back with in 2 week time frame to work on. We do not offer outside firing.
clay bodies
we do not allow students enrolled in our school to bring in outside clay. each bag after your initial 25 pound bag is additional at the the cost $105. Clay body 266 -$115 this fee includes all our firing and glazing fees. if we did in fact measure each piece from one bag that was put into the kiln it would be much more!
independent working artists
Thursdays 11:00- 2:30 the studio can be yours to use as a working independent artist with out instructor.
No open studio after 2:30 for independent working artists.

Firing Fee: The cost for firing and finishing the work you’ve made during the session is $15 for up to 3 pieces (per person). The instructor will finish your pieces (clean the base, bisque fire, glaze, and glaze fire). Your pots will be ready for pickup in 2-4 weeks.
